PART ONE
This project gave us an upcycling project. We were challenged to upcycle denim jeans donated by Dove Hospice, with importance on silhouette and volume. Like previous projects, I produced extensive research on Japanese workwear and punk culture. The output aims to provide punk elements within the proportions and hardwear, while the functionality and silhouettes seen in Japanese workwear are also embodied in this project.

PART TWO
Part two of the denim project saw us tackling jeans. We drafted jean patterns from scratch and developed a narrative close to us. My work embodies my personal experiences as a child, using skate culture as a key reference point. We were challenged with finishing methods under the designer alignment of Acne Studios. To pay homage to this, I spray-painted my jeans to achieve my own take on their signature ‘dirty’ finish.
